Unfortunately, Puppies that are over 4 months are not eligible for Puppy School, instead, you may like to register for our Juvenile Manners Program (up to 12 months) or our Basic Obedience & Manners Program (12 months +)


Please note:

  • Our Classes are Flexi-Classes, which means you can start when you are ready (no more waiting). You have 12 weeks to complete 6 classes.

  • Once you are enrolled you will receive an email with a link to our online orientation - the orientation is mandatory to get the most out of your class. 

  • All our classes are held at 66 Stafford St, Silkstone.


Puppy School Plus

Sign up today and save - get ready for their next stage of development (Adolescence) by signing up to our additional 6 week program Puppy School Plus. This program give you the skills to deal with distractions and focuses on teaching young dogs to be calm and happy.

Adolescence is the most difficult time to have a puppy, and the time when you are most likely to re-home your pet. Understanding your dogs thinking and knowing how to work with them at their most challenging is an essential, yet over looked skill for dog owners.

OPTION: You can upload an image of your current vaccination certificate with this registration, or you need will provide a copy of a current vaccination certificate prior to or when my dog attends class.

NOTE: Puppies require their first vaccination, dogs over 12 months need a C5 vaccination in accorance with the AVA position statement on Vaccinations

Upgrade to our Premium Training Package:

Our years of experience working with dogs and their owners have shown us that people who choose to take their dogs to a group class would also benefit from having separate private training to deal with "in real life" issues. Great for addressing at-home problems that we can discuss in class, but will benefit from at-home consultation to address completely, like jumping up on guests, destructive behaviours, barking and more.

You have 12 weeks to complete the full package - both classes and the premium training.

The upgrade is only $130 - saving $70 off standard private consultation fees.


Your Home & Family

Some questions about your home and family, so that we can understand how to help you and your family adapt to your new dog or training for your family dog.

It is important that training is consistent through out the household, we are a family friendly dog training organisation and are happy to have children in the class - but if your child is under 9 you will need to have another adult attend class.

Policies

Ground Rules

  • Adult Dogs must be fully vaccinated; Puppies need only to have had their 1st Vaccination to attend Puppy School. Proof of vaccination must be shown at the commencement of training.

  • Doggy Dogma does not use, or recommend the use of choker/check chains, electric shock collars, citronella collars, prong collars, head halters or retractable leads. DO NOT bring this equipment to class.

  • Sick or injured dogs should not attend classes unless allowed by their medical professionals and Doggy Dogma Personnel.

  • Dog owners and guests will follow the direction of Doggy Dogma Personnel at all times when present at a training venue.

  • Junior handlers (11-16 years) MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • If a dog shows high levels of aggressive behaviour, alternatives to class attendance may need to be discussed.

Payment and Refunds

  • Full Fees are to be paid before the commencement of class unless prior arrangements have been made.

  • In the event that a class is cancelled or postponed by Doggy Dogma for any reason, transfers, or a full refund including booking fees, will be made available.

  • No refunds will be made after the commencement of the first class that you attend,

  • There is a $35 non-refundable administrative fee if you cancel before the commencement of class.

  • Failing to attend class 3 times in succession without advising your trainer will result in all remaining classes being forfeited, any further attendance to class will require payment to attend

Attendance

  • Doggy Dogma’s Flexi Classes allow a 12-week period from submission of this form to complete your 6-session program at any available class session – after twelve weeks, additional class time will need to be purchased.

  • We ask that owners inform us of alterations in expected schedules as soon as possible.

  • Bad weather, illness and other outside events may make it necessary to postpone some class sessions. Doggy Dogma will endeavour to contact participants as soon as possible when this occurs. Classes and Flexi Class timeframes will be extended appropriately to accommodate the loss in time if required.

Owner Commitment

For effective training we ask that you try to the best of your ability, to consistently adhere to recommendations given by your Doggy Dogma Professional. Daily practice is essential to helping you and your dog learn.

To get the most out of your course applying what you have learnt in class to your home and outside your home is essential - we ask that if you are given advice regarding training from a third party - be they a professional, a friend or family member or other - that you discuss it with your trainer first before implementing it with your dog.
